Our research is focused on understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms driving regeneration processes in the CNS. We are specifically interested in cell responses driven by an altered environment in CNS disease with Blood-Brain Barrier opening. We aim to understand how changes in the environment translate into cell signaling and transcriptional programs regulating regeneration mechanisms. Our ultimate goal is to elucidate novel targets for therapeutic intervention.
We are using histopathology, microscopy, biochemistry, primary cell culture and animal models for CNS diseases with Blood-Brain Barrier opening to address the biological complexity of disease and repair mechanisms.
